The 3rd Thing publishes and promotes the work primarily of writers and artists who identify as members of minority and historically marginalized groups: womxn, people of color, immigrants, queer people. People whose work and perspective are interdisciplinary and intersectional. Together, these artists form a vast creative cohort whose work is in conversation between projects and across the boundaries of discipline, form and subject matter. We aim not only to support individual artists and to facilitate the realization of individually whole and beautiful projects, but to create culture by providing necessary alternatives to what already exists in abundance.
